Comtel Provides 24 hour Support as Key Differentiator

The Challenge

Comtel Communications is a full service telecommunications master agency headquartered in Glen Allan, VA. Founded in 1991 then reborn as Comtel Communications in 1994, the company has proven its ability to be successful in a competitive marketplace. Comtel helped found the AGENT ALLIANCE in 1996, a group of similar companies that overall represent over $200 million in annual telecom spend. In 2004 Comtel was looking to improve commissions processing and create a customer service operating platform that would allow them to effectively improve the management of their business.

Our Solution

Comtel implemented RPM Telco as the software solution to manage multiple aspects of their business. The process management module allowed tracking and collaboration on various business processes. Comtel was able to add their own processes and customize on their own without a development team.

Results

As described by Ben Humphreys, president and CEO of Comtel, "While many firms used RPM exclusively for commissions we saw a great deal of promise in RPM being developed to manage all aspects of our operation. Our firm operates as a 24 hour a day resource for our customers; it is imperative to have a robust web based platform to handle our customer facing operations. Over time, we have constructed RPM processes that manage provisioning, MACD’s, billing tickets and customer inventory. We are currently developing a sales funnel management tool. We have even engineered a process for base management on behalf of a carrier. RPM provides a flexible and dynamic platform that allows our staff to be on top of the Customer Experience which is paramount to our success."

Future Plans

As RPM Software rolls out additional functionality for RPM one key feature that presents added value to Comtel is allowing access to the end customers. Providing these customers with the ability to view relevant information that is being managed by Comtel will help solidify those relationships and facilitate trust and confidence in the work that Comtel is doing.
