Copper State Consolidates Multiple Databases to Just One

The Challenge

Copper State Communications is a full service telecommunications firm acting as the single point of contact for telecommunication products, installation, services, and training. Founded in 1982, Copper State focuses on quality long term relationships with companies throughout the US. As a Premier Master Partner with Qwest as well as an agent for another 60+ carriers Copper State has grown into a leader in the industry. With success came the inevitable complexities of managing the ordering processes, sales commission structures, trouble tickets and other critical business processes.

Our Solution

In 2004 Copper State implemented RPM Telco as a software solution to manage many aspects of their business. With an initial focus on the commission process and the complex compensation structures for getting paid then paying out partners, Copper State soon discovered the software could handle much more. As indicated by Jeannie Erli, Carrier Operations Manger for Copper State, "We have struggled for years with managing our ordering processes, our sales reps commission structures not to mention the intense reports needed to manage collections of commissions and spiffs. Since using RPM in 2004, we have streamlined our process and recouped large amounts of owed commissions from our carriers."

Results

Copper State's success in utilizing RPM is further described by Jeannie Erli. "In working with RPM staff I have been highly impressed with the attention to details and the ability to assist with our unique situations on the fly. We not only have the basic commission structure most agents have for our sales staff, but in addition over the years we brought on referral partners, subagents, internal retention reps and added an additional business to our structure. RPM has been able to accommodate added features and changes to reporting views sometimes in as little as few hours. They have been able to build special ways for us to manage our reps' commissions in minutes versus days. When we noted we were not using the commission reconciliation they asked “why?” Within a few releases the features we needed to handle our reconciliation of accounts were added and we now get the job done with more accuracy and literally in seconds we can pull our reports and complete these tasks in a couple of days where it used to take a month or more!"

"I have seen the process sides of RPM evolve over a very short period of time from basic to complex, what we used to do in five different areas and multiple databases we now do all in one. Copper State has continued to utilize RPM to the fullest extent. With the recent improvement sin RPM for management of locations and contact information, customer logon functionality, and future improved quoting abilities, Copper State will continue to improve their processes and deliver value to their clients
