PlanetOne Triples Productivity

The Challenge

PlanetOne is a full service independent telecom brokerage firm specializing in providing discounted voice and data telecommunications services to business clientele nationally from top telecom providers. As an award winning master agency in the alternate channel Planet One, recognized as having one of the top agent programs and Top 5 most innovative, Planet One is continuously striving to deliver top solutions at the best prices. With success came the inevitable headaches of managing the operations. Significant ongoing effort was required to track orders and make sure payments are being made correctly and on time to their partners.

Our Solution

It was this requirement that led Planet One to implement a software solution, RPM Telco in March of 2006 to assist the support group in getting things done. RPM combines a flexible process management framework with the most robust and widely used commission engine in the industry. PlanetOne was able to start tracking orders and commission issues and realized immediate benefits.

Results

"I can accomplish up to three times the amount of work in a month than I used to. PlanetOne use to have three full time people doing the same job as only I do now. That alone has been a huge savings to the company", states Susan Smith, commission manager for PlanetOne. "Being able to pull up an account in literally two seconds and see the entire history of that account is nothing short of remarkable. I have had carriers try to charge P1 back on accounts that we had never been paid on. I have had carriers try to charge P1 back for more money than they paid us. Again, within literally two seconds, I pulled the history of the account and disputed their findings. We, of course, were correct and the carriers had to re-pay us because their records were incorrect."

Future Plans

PlanetOne has expanded their RPM subscription to cover additional business processes. As their business grows, PlanetOne will be able to count on RPM to manage complexity. Susan Smith sums it up perfectly, "Personally, any company that wants to stop losing money every month, via manual mistakes and/or wants to maximize a small work force should be using RPM. It makes a rising company handle their expansion without any interruptions, setbacks, or glitches that most growing companies’ experience. There is nothing better out there to do the job and be as user friendly as it is, to accomplish it."
